My belief
"As a conservative, I found I had no party. Both major parties actively support the abolishment of federalism and concentration of power in the federal government. The lure of federal power to rule outweighed any obligation by oath to uphold the constitution. As our government grows ever larger and more controlling, fiscal responsibility is abandoned. National and international moral and social "imperatives" with big government solutions replace rational, sound judgment. The costs, whether for the good of the US citizens or not, are casually passed on to the taxpayer and now, to our children. Our federal government's involvement in education has directly resulted in one of the most expensive, ineffective educational system in the developed world. Our children and their children's children will be the ones paying for our excesses - sans the education to effectively compete. It is time for citizens to take responsible, positive action to restore the rights of individual states to govern according to the will of the people, and to return the federal government to its proper, fiscally responsible, limited role."
